The Rev. Dr. James Sorvillo is a second-generation Episcopal Priest currently serving in the Diocese of Southwest Florida. He has seen the blessings and challenges that come with full-time, long-term ministry. His passion for congregations come from his years of ministry experience and a heart for people...and churches... to live fully into their God-given potential.
With a B.A. from the University of Central Florida in Psychology, an M.Div and D. Min from the School of Theology at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tn.
Fr. Jim served for 21 of his 30 years in ministry as the rector of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Orlando, Fl, and currently Church of the Ascension, Clearwater, FL.
During this time he has combined principles from Family System's Theory, Conflict Resolution, Trust Theory, Shame effects, and the reconciling power of the Holy Spirit, into a process for the triage, healing, and reconciliation, of congregations in crisis.
This process can be applied to any faith community, regardless of denomination.

"Thank you… does not cover how incredible this retreat was. Bob and I are excited to work with the rest of the BC (Bishop's Committee) and then wider congregation to build and to have the conversations around vision-casting and action plans…So yes, thank you doesn’t quite cut it… you’ve shared invaluable wisdom today."
